LEEK Qualifies for Niagara CFC / United Way Fundraising
Apr 30Congratulations to LEEK Hunting and Mountain Preserve; for the fourth year in a row LEEK has qualified and is listed under the Niagara CFC / United Way Fundraising for the 2012 Campaign.
The Local Federal Coordinating Committee (LFCC) of the Niagara Frontier Combined Federal Campaign met on April 18, 2012, to review your agency’s application for inclusion in our fall 2012 Combined Federal Campaign Brochure. On behalf of the LFCC, I am pleased to inform you of the approval of your application, as submitted. This approval is contingent upon any issues which may be raised by the Office of Personnel Management which oversees the Combined Federal Campaign. You will only hear from us if there are any such issues no later than June 1, 2012. Your agency will be included in the CFC Charity List provided to Federal Employees and you may advertise your CFC number in marketing pieces. Please make note of the following:
- Maintain completed application packets for your organization for three complete campaign seasons (24 month cycle). You should currently have 2009 forward on file if you have been participating since that time.
- You must re-apply each year in order to participate in CFC. Our 2013 application period will be determined later this year. You will receive notification regarding the 2013 application process in January.

L.E.E.K. Featured in the Navy Supply Corp Newsletter
Feb 17
Retired U.S. Coast Guard Master Chief Boatswain’s Mate Lew Fisher helps Clint Graff, who served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps, sight-in his new muzzleloader before a deer hunt. Graeff was wounded by an Improvised Explosive Device in Habbaniyah, Iraq in October 2006.
Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus designated the month of November as Warrior Care Month, to help “recognize the sacrifices and achievements of our wounded, ill and injured service members, their families, and those who care for them.” Many of our wounded warriors spend the majority of their time inside; in hospitals, recovery installations, and at home. Now, however, they have a place they may visit which is actually outside, where they can hunt, fish, and enjoy quality outside time.
The LEEK Hunting and Mountain Preserve, located in north central Pa., provides wounded veterans a handicap accessible camp environment, along with hunting and fishing opportunities.
